Getting married in Curaçao
In Curaçao, a marriage is a legally regulated community of life between an adult man and an adult woman.

Are you getting married? In that case, you first file a marriage registration with Public Affairs (Kranshi), Department of Data Processing. This declaration is also referred to as 'ondertrouw'.

Tips when getting married at 'Kranshi'
-
BE ON TIME! When you're late they will rush through your ceremony and there won't be any time left to take pictures afterwards.
-
There's NO need to prepare or rehearse the walking entrance, once you are up there, the worker itself will put the bridal party in place. You'll soon realize that all the rehearsing has been for nothing.
-
Make sure that the bride is the last to leave the car. Everybody else (including the groom) should already be up in the room. The bride, her bridal stylist/ the person who helps her with her dress and the escort (the person who walks her down the isle) are the only ones who should walk with her up the stairs into the ceremony room at 'kranshi'.
-
UNPLUGGED CEREMONY: We cannot stress this enough, if you already have a professional photographer that you paid for, make sure that the guests put away their phones and fully be invested in the ceremony. There's nothing worse then looking back at your pictures and seeing everybody having their phones in their faces, flashlights obscuring the photographer and overall a messy and chaotic room. Besides the photographer, you can perhaps appoint just one family member to take additional pictures, that way you will have them to look at after the wedding in case the photographer is not finished with your album yet.
-
Make a photo checklist with the people you want to take pictures with at the ceremony hall to help you with time management and get you thinking about the images you want from your photographer. TIP: A few days before your ceremony, contact 'Kranshi' to check if there will be any other wedding after yours and at what time this will be...this way you know how much time you have left to take pictures afterwards.
-
When finished taking pictures at 'kranshi' with the family, let them escort the hall. Take a moment for you and hubby to take private pictures in a calmer environment.
